Wieden + Kennedy Tokyo's first campaign for Honda Asia and Oceania broke in May 2008 during the Monaco Grand Prix. The 60” TV spot dramatised Honda’s unique i-VTEC engine technology and positioned the brand as a manufacturer of highly fuel efficient, yet powerful cars.
The campaign was developed as a collaboration between W+K London and Tokyo, utilizing London’s extensive experience and success with the Honda brand in the UK and Tokyo’s experience in developing regional campaigns for clients like Nike Asia. ‘Drop’ was created by Michael Russoff and Caroline Pay from Wieden + Kennedy London and creatively directed by Sumiko Sato and Hiroshi Yonemura from Wieden + Kennedy Tokyo.
